Lucas Leo turns ONE!

I can NOT believe Lucas is already one. As cliche as it sounds, what did we ever do before we had him?! The 9 terrible months I spent pregnant with him and the hundreds of times I threw up were all worth the joy this boy brings to us.
His birthday was a rare rainy day!
Jimmy was here visiting which was also a rare treat!
Check out this big boy!
He's almost 23lbs, and 30 inches long (i think...I cant remember!)
His head is big, but thats ok.
He wears 12-18 month shirts, 12 month shorts/pants and I think a size 4 shoe. Hard to tell since he doesn't wear shoes all that often!

We walked to Bashas to get birthday donuts which was great. He LOVES donuts. Just like he loves all food. He no longer eats baby food, mostly becuase he likes feeding himself so much. The only foods he doesn't like are eggs or oatmeal. We just switched over from formula to whole milk without any hitch and he is 100% off bottles. Let me tell you, it was really weird throwing away all our bottles and bottle cleaner and using the last jar of formula we will ever buy for one of our children.

He helped me make his cake by testing it out.
Look at those eyes!! Everywhere we go he gets compliments on his eyes. Then his smile. Then his overall happy demeanor. And its true. He is SUCH a happy boy. I'm not just saying that as his biased mother, he is so sweet and happy almost all the time. I cant get enough of him!

He was a big fan of his decorations and the balloons that were brought over later.
If you look close in this picture you can find Jaxton, Louie and a half naked Lucas.

We had a party for him that night with John/Rox and fam, Laura and kids and Jimmy. We decided to get him his own chair as his gift. The other boys have their own and since Lucas is just one of the boys he needed one. I think actually that Lucas is more rough and tumble then the other boys. He will do his best to tackle the other boys to the ground and always wants to be thrown around.

We had his 1 year well check and he is nice and healthy. We also went to the Neurologist for his 6 month post shunt surgery checkup. The doctor was a little concerned with his head size and the fact he wasn't walking yet & having some other delays so we had an MRI but his fluid level is perfect and shunt is great so nothing to worry about there! And of course a few weeks after that visit he started walking around! Fastest walker out of all my boys!

What else about Lucas? He likes to read, loves walks, water, barking like a dog, his brothers, flirting with anyone he meets, blocks, balls, sneaking up the stairs, babbling, standing up in the bathtub, crawling like an alligator, walking with his hands raised in the air.

He's a doll. So sweet and lovable and 1 years old!
