Just so you know. . . .

Just so you know:

* Preston is now 11 weeks old and awesome. Even when he's crying. Like right now.

* Patrick and I joined a "Biggest Loser" group with Jen & Eliott. We're 3 weeks in and so far I've lost 11 pounds and Patricks lost 9. My weight loss has come from a strict diet and lots of long walks. Patricks has come from...I don't know, maybe wishing it away?!

* Andrew is off on his Mission. He's almost 1 week in. We got our first letter from him Saturday. He say's the days are long, the food is good, his companion is weird. Basically a typical life in the MTC.

* Preston is smiling all the time. He's such a flirt and smiles at all the girls, especially Krissa.

* As of today I no longer work at The University of Phoenix. As of today I am officially a stay at home mom!

* We hate taxes.

* We have the cutest little red headed boy EVER. Don't believe me? Take a look at this picture:

And in case that one doesn't convince you I present Exhibit B:

I rest my case.

2 Month Checkup

Preston had his 2 month check up today.
So much has changed about him in the past month since we were last there. The biggest and noticeable change would be his size. He's getting so big!!!

Weight: 11 lbs 10 oz (50-75 percentile)
Height: 23 inches (50 percentile)
Head Circumference (50-75 percentile)

So since he was born he's grown 2 inches and gained 3 lbs 7 oz. Not to bad!
The doctor said he's an excellent baby, which pleased me and then made it easy to forgive him when he made the comment "Rather be dead then red in the head".
I had a list of questions for him, which he was glad to listen to and answer. He assured me that within this month Preston will stop clenching his fists and relax his hands more. Said his weekly projectile vomiting is nothing to be concerned about since it happens so sporadically. Suggested that I start using Dove soap for his baths since his skin is sensitive and a little dry. (Must be the red hair). And then said that because he is such a mouth breather/air swallower/snorer/sometimes squeaky when he breathes that he could have enlarged adenoids or tonsils. But we cant do anything about that because he's so little, and that we'll just keep an eye on it as he grows. In the meantime I can try sleeping him with his head a bit elevated since he can't hold it up and adjust it on his own.
Then came shot time....dun dun dun dun DUN!
He only had to get 3 shots, and 1 oral medication. They told me the oral one tasted like grape, which apparently is Prestons 2nd favorite flavor (the first being formula). He just sucked it down. Then they did 2 shots in one leg, 1 in the other. When they first poked him it didn't really seem to bother him, but then after a little bit of a delayed reaction it sunk in and he cried and had huge tears! The 2nd leg bled a little bit more and needed 2 band-aids, which he also hated. But as soon as I picked him up he was fine. He keeps giving me these sad looks though. . .
Seems to be doing ok at the moment. He is a bit more fussy then normal, but I enjoy the cuddle time! Lucky for him he doesn't have to go back for 2 more months

Bye-Bye Andrew

I Can't believe that Andrew is leaving in 12 days!
This Sunday is his Farewell talk (2pm @ Crismon Building).
And then at 7pm we're having an open house for him!
Come by and wish him luck, and eat our food :D

Finally today Preston decided to start smiling at me. Previous to today he would only smile at: Patrick, Elmo, Jimmy, the picture of Paris in our room, Krissa, Eliott, Jen, the picture of Jesus, Andrew, the ceiling at Kohls, basically everything and everyone BUT me. Today was different though, and I loved it. It was especially great since the past few days he's been extremely fussy and screamy and just not a happy baby. Things are different now though!

I really hope he doesn't cry when he's up there. I really hope I don't cry when he's up there.

New Project...

While blog hopping one day last week I came across a blog where someone challenged themselves to take a picture, and post that picture every single day for 365 days. Sounds like a good idea! Problem is that I don't think that I do anything interesting enough to take pictures of. But you know who does? Preston! www.preston365.com.
Everyday I'll try to post a new picture of Preston for the next year.
Doesn't seem too hard since I'm obsessed with him and already take a ton of pictures of him!
Now I just have an excuse to do it!
But no worries, I still plan on posting lots of pictures here too :D
If Preston falls asleep and isn't swaddled, he always end up with his arms in strange positions. For example.....

ZOMBIE HANDS!!

DOING THE THRILLER DANCE!!

PLAYING THE PIANO!!
