Look who's all grown up now and thinks he can just hold his head up and look around like his head doesn't weigh a ton!

It seems (to me) like he's getting more hair on the top of his head. Which is good since he's rubbing himself bald on the sides of his head at his temples. But more hair on the top means more spiky hair days! And as for the look he's giving me in this picture, I probably get that look 50 times a day from him. It's his "Who the heck are you?" look. You'd think by now he'd recognize me!

Back when Preston was just a little itty bitty thing (cause he's huge now), the fabulous Jen came over to take his pictures. It was quite the adventure.... he screamed a lot. Mostly because we took his clothes off so we could get cute artsy pictures, and Preston HATES having any clothes off (minus socks, loves to have his socks off). Oh and then there was the part where he pee'd all over us and 2 blankets. Twice. But the end result is so so cute!!!

Preston had his 1 month checkup today.
YEP. He's already a month old. I don't know where the time is going....

But the doctor said he's doing great! He was impressed at how alert Preston was as well as the fact that he's already trying to roll over. Little does he know that was just Prestons "where's the bottle" back/head arch. But thats ok if he wants to think he's advanced!

He now weighs 9 lb 10 oz - which puts him in the 25th percentile

He's almost 22 inches (just a bit shy of that) - which is in the 75th percentile!

It was a successful appointment followed up by a visit to Aunt Jen's where he decided to show her just how much he loves her by peeing on her during a diaper change. Now thats love.

This past week we've been working hard on getting Preston to learn to fall asleep on his own, and even more important in his own bed. Before this week he'd only sleep if I was holding him and spent his nights in bed with us. But not anymore!

At first there was a lot of this going on. . . .

And more of this. . . .

But that led to more of this going on!!

And now he's on a really good schedule. Every 3 hours he'll eat, then we play- playing for us is usually dance parties, then I'll lay him down and he'll sleep for 2 hours. Repeat repeat repeat!

Lots of firsts!

It's hard to believe that Preston is already 3 weeks old. He already seems so big!!
I never thought I'd be so in love with something so fast, but we're kind of obsessed over him. But for good reason. The kids super cute.

The past week brought about lots of new things for him, and for us as we experienced them with him. Things like. . .

1st big boy bath!
Yeah, he screamed the entire time. But he always cry's whenever we take his clothes off. And really thats the only time he lets loose and screams. Most of the time its just little fussy noises or fake crys (we learned how to spot those real fast). He is getting a liiiitttle better with the screaming in the bathtub, and promptly stops as soon as he's wrapped up in his monkey towel.

1st time going to church!

His church outfit is the only one with pants that actually fit him. He looked like a real boy all dressed up! He did well, until the opening song. Then he got the HUGEST frown on his face and started fussing. I dunno, maybe he just didn't like the song.

1st time going for a walk!

I really think he enjoyed being outside. We walked up to Bashas to pick up some more formula and milk, and he was very content the entire time. I was concerned the whole time about making sure the sun wasn't in his eyes, and he was concerned the whole time with trying to eat his sweater. We make a good team.

1st day being alone...

Patrick went back to work on Wed after being home for 3 weeks. Needless to say it was a very different kind of day for me and Preston. We didn't get much done, but we had a good day. Just a couple of redheads hanging out together.

OH! And as for other updates on the goings on around here, Andrew got his mission call to Tallahassee, Florida and leaves March 24th. And Jimmy got accepted to BYU Provo & BYU Hawaii. He's still making the decision on which one to attend, but he'll probably be leaving in July to start preparing for school. So after July it'll just be the 3 of us living here- which will be another 1st. And Jack of course.
